Ben Scheltus - General Manager

Ben is a strongly self-motivated and highly experienced senior consulting professional with more than 30 years’ experience across a range of disciplines including engineering, consulting, business continuity planning and business management. Ben has a solid understanding of both IT and business management and an ability to bridge the gap and bring alignment between these two disciplines.

Extensive vendor liaison and management skills have been developed through roles requiring supplier management as well as those working for IT vendors. This brings with it experience in large project development and implementation, disaster recovery planning and implementation, procurement, systems operations and maintenance and business case development.

He is at ease working with all levels of management and practised at mobilising the resources of major companies to deliver outcomes. Ben was previously responsible for all aspects of KPMG Australia's business continuity Program, its maintenance and exercising regime. He further developed all aspects of documentation, exercising, communications and crisis management. He closely liaised with IT to ensure the disaster recovery plan aligned with the business continuity plan.

He has worked in a number of European countries and his background is in the chemical, IT and services industries.

For more than ten years, Ben has successfully run a not for profit called Climate Alliance Limited. Its role is to help company directors more easily inform themselves about the risks and opportunities presented by climate change.

Ben is a regular speaker at events run by the Governance Institute and The Business Continuity Institute (Australia). He has also been a member of Council of the Victorian Institute of Technology for many years. He is currently the Chair of its Compliance and Risk Committee.

 

Nicholas Dedman - Project Manager

Nicholas is a seasoned, delivery focused, IT project and program manager with over 21 years’ project and program management experience. Over the years he has managed many complex IT projects across a wide range of public and private industry sectors including Health, Construction, Mining, Services, Science and Technology, Manufacturing and Finance in medium to enterprise sized organisations.

Nicholas’s experience includes 16 years project management contract services both Nationally and Internationally to organisations such as Transfield Services, Commonwealth Bank, Vision Stream, AusHealth International, Hansen Yuncken & Leighton Construction, the Australian Nuclear Sciences and Technology Organisation (ANSTO) and NSW Department of Justice across a wide range of Infrastructure and Software solution including major Infrastructure Asset Renewal programmes and corporate wide ERP (SAP) Implementations.

Nicholas has extensive knowledge and experience developing and managing Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity life cycle programs within NSW Health, Transfield Services and ANSTO from business case development through project delivery and closure.

Through his extensive experience and education Nicholas has gained skills and expertise across multiple project management frameworks and associated tools and is well versed in Risk, Financial, Change, Stakeholder and Schedule management.

Nicholas is a cofounder of ThePMO Group Pty Ltd which commenced operating in 2008.  Nicholas was a major contributor to the development of ThePMO Project Management Software “Project Symphony” developed to support the provision of in house project management services to clients.

Nicholas holds Australian General Security Clearance.
